Merge PDF files offline in Chrome
Merging PDFs is the most common PDF task and the one people most often hand to an upload site. Chrome can do it locally in a few seconds.
Step by step
- Open PDF Haven from the toolbar.
- Drag all your PDFs (and any JPG or PNG scans) into the window at once. Each file gets its own colour so you can see where pages came from.
- Drag pages to change the order. Click to select, Shift-click to select a range, ⌘/Ctrl-click for several.
- Rotate sideways pages with the arrow buttons; delete blank ones with the bin.
- Type a file name and click Download PDF.

- Fonts and images shared by many pages are copied only once, so the merged file stays close to the size of the originals.
- Fillable forms keep working after a merge. Tick Flatten in Fill form if you want answers to be permanent.
- Made a mistake? Press Ctrl+Z (⌘Z) to undo.
- Need only some pages? Select them and click Download selected pages.
How big can the files be?
There is no upload limit because there is no upload. The practical limit is your computer's memory; hundreds of pages are fine on a normal laptop.
FAQ
- Is merging free?
- Yes, merging, reordering, rotating and splitting are free with no page limit.
- Can I merge password-protected PDFs?
- If a PDF only blocks editing, PDF Haven can make an image-based copy you can merge. If it needs a password to open, you will be asked for it; the password never leaves your computer.
